Councilmember Jose Huizar continues to  work with the Autry to reopen the Southwest Museum as the premiere location for exhibiting the collection created by Charles Lummis. Councilmember Huizar offered a number of possible ways  the City of Los Angeles could help the Autry including upwards of $20M in loans and grants. The Autry Board has so far rejected these offers but the Councilmember's staff indicate that he is still optimistic that he can positively impact the Autry's thinking on this issue.
